what the world needs . . .

“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive.  And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”     Harold Whitman

I love to read biographies –  the people who have touched me the most art the ones who marched to the beat of their own drum – people like George W. Carver, John Muir, Etty Hillesum, Rich Mullins . . .  Also people in my own life like Carol and Roy who left behind a beautiful home in Los Osos and moved to Israel – and Steve, Jenny, Tricia, Carly and more who inspire me by their dedication and passion and have taken the road less traveled.
